Tongkat Ali – Do You Know The Truth?

Written by Don McKerry on January 7, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali

Like all alternative medicines and therapies, there are various factual and untrue statements about the validity of this increasingly popular herbal remedy.  Generally, herbal medicines are all-natural products that are non-habit forming and produce minimal side effects.

Tongkat Ali is no exception.

One claim indicates that Tongkat Ali root powder is effective for improving overall health, increasing libido and enhancing sexual performance. That the root powder works just as well as the root extract.

This is quite simply untrue. From the researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT):

“The yield of the bioactive constituents is extremely low at less than 0.005%. Hence, they are not easily available for further studies and for commercial preparations. The plant also requires a longer time to produce the secondary bio-active metabolites and their biological activities may be derived from more than one of the constituents.”

Also all anecdotal evidences and experiences from users suggest that the root extract is much more effective than root power.

Another often misunderstood idea maintains that Tongkat Ali powder can be supplemented by other herbs.  While products containing a mix of Tongkat Ali extract and other herbs can indeed be more potent, many supplement manufacturers abuse this and put too little Tongkat Ali extract into their formulation.

For Tongkat Ali extract to work effectively, I recommend at least 300 mg of the extract.

There are various extract strengths available in the market. Typically its 1:50, 1:100 and 1:200 with 1:200 extract strength being the most potent and also the more expensive one.

The actual mechanism in which the Tongkat Ali extract works in our body has not been identified and documented. Various studies, reports and reviews suggest that the active ingredients within Tongkat Ali extract increases the amount of free testosterone in our body.

In a test result released in May 2005 by by ZRT Laboratory, the lab reported the testosterone level of a 72-year old male who’s increased by 224 percent.

Also the British Journal of Sports Medicine reported on clinical trials conducted on Tongkat Ali extract and the editor concluded:

“The results suggest that water soluble extract of Eurycoma longifolia Jack increased fat free mass, reduced body fat, and increased muscle strength and size, and thus may have an ergogenic effect.”

(Eurycoma longifolia Jack is the scientific name for Tongkat Ali)

The effects reported by users of Tongkat Ali extract includes increase in sex drive and libido, harder and longer-lasting erection, muscle gain, weight loss, along with an overall increase in energy and feeling more ‘positive about life’. Other effects also include aggression.

All these effects points to an increase in overall and possibly free testosterone level.

Irregardless of the actual mechanism though, Tongkat Ali extract at appropriate extract strength and dosage does indeed live up to its reputation as a powerful aphrodisiac.

As a user, our primary concern is Tongkat Ali’s safety over a long period of use. LD50 tests done demonstrate that the extract is non-toxic in nature and extremely safe for long-term consumption.

To round up my summation, I like to give you a final thought that will save you some money.  Forget about Tongkat Ali coffee. It’s a complete waste of money and chances are, you’ll be disappointed that it does nothing for you except to give a little caffeine boost.

Tongkat Ali extract is way too bitter in taste to be mixed into any food and still be edible. These products are nothing but marketing gimmicks designed to ride on the increasing popularity of this herb.

Don’t believe me? When you get hold of some Tongkat Ali extract capsules, break it open and taste it for yourself. Just be sure to have a big glass of water ready.

Purchasing Tongkat Ali Extract

Categories: Tongkat Ali Extract

Although well known and highly regarded in eastern cultures, Tongkat Ali has only recently began to emerge as an alternative treatment in European and western markets. Now, online providers report an upturn in consumer interest and sales across Europe and throughout the U.S.

Also Dr Oz recent live television coverage of Tongkat Ali has served to increase the herb popularity across the United States.

Traditionally, Tongkat Ali is consumed to promote overall good health and at the same time, addresses factors that contribute to erectile dysfunction, improving blood circulation and increasing overall vitality.

The key to success and getting results with Tongkat Ali is for the user to understand what is actually being purchased and how the herbal remedy is formulated.

Tongkat Ali is a plant or rather a small tree found in the tropical rainforests of South East Asia. Traditionally only the roots of the tree are used for medicinal purposes. The way it is consume by the indigenous people is to take a small amount of the root (usually 50 to 100 gram) and boil it with 20 ounces of water for an hour or so and then drink the ‘herbal soup’.

Modern research has confirmed the validity of this method of consumption because the active ingredients of Tongkat Ali roots is only available in miniscule amount.

So it does not make sense nor is it effective to consume the roots as it is mainly cellulose.

To derive maximum benefit from a Tongkat Ali supplement, it is best to consume its root ‘Extract’ . Either in liquid form as discuss above or in powder form.

So the first thing to look out for when buying a Tongkat Ali extract supplement is to look for one that specifically states that the supplement is made of Tongkat Ali extract.

The next thing to look for is the dosage. Too little of Tongkat Ali extract does nothing for you. Bear in mind that Tongkat Ali is a herb and not a drug. So you need an appropriate amount of it to work. I suggest a minimum of at least 300 mg per capsule, per day.

Anything less than that, you are probably wasting your money.

As for the extract strength, I would say 1:50 works fine. Certainly 1:200 being the more potent one works better but it is also more expensive. If budget is not a concern, then you want to go for higher extract strength.

Other factor includes age of the roots. But this cannot be easily verified. You can only take the words of the manufacturer for it. This is why it is important to look for a supplier thatoffers a money-back guarantee. In the event that Tongkat Ali does not work for you, you can always fall back on the guarantee. You lose nothing.

Having said that though, you want to give Tongkat Ali extract a fair chance to see if it works for you. This means consistently taking it for at least 30 to 60 days. Like I mention earlier on, Tongkat Ali is not a drug. It is a herb. So it does not work immediately. In those cases where it does work almost immediately (as you can read from some user’s experiences on my website), they are the exceptions and not the rule.

If you want a recommendation on specific products, here are two of them:

(these are not affiliate links)

1:200 Pure Tongkat Ali root extract – SD-200

1:50 Pure Tongkat Ali root extract – SD-50

Both are from the same company. Only the extract strength is different. This is the only manufacturer that offers a 90 days full money back guarantee and has a ton of user’s testimonials on their websites.

Irregardless of which company’s products you choose though, as long as you follow my simple guidelines for purchasing Tongkat Ali extract, you will not go wrong.

Greatly Misunderstood Herbal Medicines Like Tongkat Ali

Written by Don McKerry on July 26, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali

When discussions about herbal medicines begin, they are often prefaced by words to the effect that alternative remedies and natural medicines are unproven or inexact.  Too often what that means is that herbal medicines have not been approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The facts are that most herbal remedies, like Tongkat Ali Extract, do not require prescriptions and the FDA does not know much about these remedies because it is not their responsibility to research them.  In the United States, too few people are aware of the existence of the Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), which was created in 1992.  The FDA does research prescription medicines.  The agency was launched more than 100 years ago.  Despite its best and sincere efforts, the FDA has made some classic blunders and miscalculations.

Today, physicians are hesitant to recommend any remedies that are not approved by the FDA.  Many times this is because they are afraid of insurance ramifications or have not had the time to perform their own research.

It should be noted that many of today’s prescription medicines have roots connected to plants and herbs.  For example, willow bark was the original derivative for aspirin.  Foxglove flowers provide an extract that is used in Digitalis, a prescription drug for heart conditions. There are many other similar cases.

One of the FDA mistakes was the premature approval of Viagra, the leading prescription medicine for erectile dysfunction.  This mistake caused hundreds of deaths in the first nine months immediately following the drug’s FDA approval.

Many of the world’s leading physicians, like Dr. Mehmet Oz, recommend that patients consider alternative remedies for numerous ailments and conditions.  Oz has written five highly regarded books and in all five has advocated the use of alternative therapies.

The most basic reason is that all-natural herbal remedies, like the Tongkat Ali Extract, carry no side effects, are not addictive and have never caused any deaths.  These ancient medicines have been used for centuries so they can hardly be considered unproven.

When it comes to herbal remedies, it seems that “unproven” has come to mean not approved by the FDA.  Yet, in many parts of the world, where the FDA has no bearing and where prescription medicines are not used, herbal remedies, like Tongkat Ali, are still used to treat physical and psychological conditions and do so quite successfully.

The FDA and today’s physicians know that prescription medications and many of today’s “over the counter” remedies can be addictive, generally have persistent side effects and can cause serious functional damage.  Perhaps this is why 50 percent of Viagra users do not renew their prescriptions.

Monetarily, herbal remedies are much less expensive than prescription drugs.  Much of the cost associated with prescription medications is linked to expensive marketing campaigns.  If you have seen television ads or read magazine ads about today’s prescription drugs and listened to their potential risks, you probably wonder how these medicines received FDA approval and certainly become aware of the dangers associated with many of today’s most popular prescriptions.

Prescription medications can be dangerous.  Prescription medications, like Viagra or other erectile dysfunction medicines, carry serious side effects and can be fatal in certain circumstances.

The Tongkat Ali Extract has been used to treat erectile dysfunction for centuries.  Tongkat Ali works.  It is a safe aphrodisiac, used by men and women, that produces additional amounts of testosterone that not only allows users to enjoy better sex but cares for the sexual organs.

Users do not need a prescription to get started.  Most western users rely on online providers.  The important component in procuring functional Tongkat Ali Extract is to do your homework so you select a reliable provider.  Once you have the right provider, you can be assured of improved, safe and enjoyable sexual experiences.

Use Alternative Medicines Like Tongkat Ali

Much of today’s medical profession is based upon the use of prescription medications.  Indeed, the advances made in critical care medicine is miraculous and necessary.  Yet, the over-reliance upon prescription medicines is a great concern.

The truth is that prescription drugs generally treat the symptoms of a disease or pain and do not provide cures for the condition.  Many patients do not understand the difference and blindly trust prescription drugs.

A University of Toronto study has revealed that the use of prescription drugs causes more fatalities in one year than do automobile accidents.  Mistakes in the use of prescription medications and the resulting dangerous side effects of these drugs costs a minimum of $76 billion per year and could account for as much as $135 billion.

The biggest part of this cost is the serious hospitalization caused by the use of the improperly prescribed medicine.  Astoundingly, the University of Toronto found that adverse reactions to prescription drugs is the fourth highest cause of fatalities in the country, following behind heart disease, cancer and stroke.

Physicians are aware that 51 percent of FDA-approved drugs have serious side effects.  The most dangerous drugs are painkillers and drugs that affect the immune system, but 1.5 million Americans are hospitalized each year because of damage caused by prescription drugs and more than 100,000 annual deaths are attributed to prescription drugs.

The side effects can range from life-threatening to discomforting conditions.  Levels of discomfort can range from chronic pain to tolerable discomfort to extremely risky health conditions.  All you need to do to become aware of the known risks is to listen to an advertisement for the next great cure.

Even seemingly safe medications like PDE-5 drugs like Viagra, Cialis or Levitra, cause painful side effects.  The FDA certainly was premature with its release of Viagra as 900 people died in the first nine months following the drug’s release.

These facts are just a few of the reasons that people are rapidly resisting prescription medications and returning to the use of alternative therapies, such as herbal extracts.  50 percent of Viagra prescriptions are not renewed.  The drug may help the user achieve an erection but does not increase libido or improve sexual performance, a fact that is not understood by most users.

Natural medicines have been used for thousands of years and do not present dangerous side effects.  In most cases, these time-tested remedies have no side effects and treat the illness not simply ease the symptoms.

The age-old Tongkat Ali Extract is one of those marvelous herbal extracts originally developed in Southeast Asia and now flooding the western markets.  Tongkat Ali is an aphrodisiac that boosts testosterone and is highly regarded as a treatment for erectile dysfunction.

Men and women benefit from the use of the extract.  Not only does Tongkat Ali elevate sexual desire but the additional testosterone also improves sexual performance while increasing health of the sexual organs.

Erectile dysfunction can be treated and Tongkat Ali provides a safe, side effect-free alternative to today’s prescription medicines.  Properly used, properly manufactured Tongkat Ali will provide the user a more virile way of life, with increased libido and more sexual stamina.

Men can expect stronger, longer lasting erections and more productive testes.  Women will enjoy a more sensitized sexual experience and will notice an almost immediate increase in desire.

Unlike prescription medicines, Tongkat Ali is ingested on a regular, almost daily schedule through a process known as cycling.  The Tongkat Ali Extract user can enjoy sex at any time whenever the time is right.  What an improvement!  What a safe, lasting remedy!  Try Tongkat Ali Extract today.

Tongkat Ali – The Advantages of Herbal Remedies

Written by Don McKerry on July 12, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali

Very few herbal medicines have their roots in western cultures.  As a result, the concept of herbal remedies is often misunderstood.  In the United States, herbal medicines are researched by the NCCAM, a division of the Department of Health and Human Service’s National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.  NCCAM was founded in 1992 and compared to the FDA is a very young division with an overloaded schedule.

Herbal medicines, like Tongkat Ali, have four distinct advantages over today’s prescription medicines:

  1. History.  Most known herbal remedies are time-tested and have been used in different cultures for centuries.  In many cultures, where prescription medicines are not available, herbal remedies are still the medicines of choice.
  2. Safety.  Remedies like Tongkat Ali are all-natural and carry no side effects.  Many prescription medicines are habit forming, have disturbing side effects and while treating the symptoms of a condition can cause damage to other bodily systems. Prescription medications like Vioxx, which treats arthritis and Viagra-like prescriptions are known to have uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous side effects.
  3. Cost.  Prescription medicine manufacturers like Pfizer, the producer of Viagra, spend billions of dollars on research, development and marketing.  The result is extremely prices that far exceed the relatively low cost of herbal remedies.
  4. Convenience.  Prescriptions are not required to order Tongkat Ali.  Many herbs can be grown in home gardens.  Keep in mind that in much of the world these are the only physical and psychological remedies available.

This does not mean that prescription remedies do not have their place.  Many of these medicines are very necessary to treat serious illnesses and in emergency situations, like broken bones, appendicitis or heart attacks.

Users of herbal medicines should understand that these medicines could interact with prescriptions.  Before using herbal remedies, users should check with knowledgeable physicians.

For users in the west, the biggest risk related to herbal medicines is the quality of the product.  Because alternative therapies are not regulated, some providers use inexpensive substitutes for the necessary ingredients in some of the world’s oldest medicines.

Users must research their herbal remedies.  The user should know the manufacturing process, know the purpose of the medicine, know what to expect and be in position to evaluate trustworthy providers.

In the case of Tongkat Ali Extract, the users should only purchase from reliable providers who use the water extraction method.  The extract comes in several different strengths.  The strongest recommended extraction is 1:200, meaning that 200 grams of chipped root make up 1 gram of the extract.

Users should also be familiar with the cycling use of Tongkat Ali.  To achieve the best results of the testosterone building herbal extract, the cycling method of intake is suggested.  Most users take their regular dose of Tongkat Ali for five days and then abstain for two days before beginning the cycle again.

Users should also know what to expect from the extract.  Tongkat Ali is a testosterone boosting remedy that serves as an aphrodisiac and provides many general health benefits, including sexual organ health.  Proper use of the extract normally increases the libido, produces stronger erections, higher sperm counts and more powerful orgasms.   For women, Tongkat Ali makes the vaginal walls more sensitive and increases the libido.

Assuming the Tongkat Ali is of high quality, men and women can expect better sexual experiences and users will achieve a healthier presence with Tongkat Ali.  It is not approved by the FDA, but Tongkat Ali is safe and has been used successfully in Southeast Asia for thousands of years.  If you suffer from erectile dysfunction or just want to enjoy a better sexual experience, try Tongkat Ali Extract.

Tongkat Ali – More Than a Testosterone Booster

Written by Don McKerry on June 22, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali

It may be the testosterone boosting capabilities that have created the upsurge in demand for the Southeast Asian herb, but the Tongkat Ali extract has served multiple healing purposes to natives of the region for centuries.  Users new to the “Asian Viagra” may indeed find unexpected dividends in the extract’s continued use.  Aside from increased libido, users can depend on some pretty positive side effects with all the safety comforts provided by all-natural herbal remedies.

To meet today’s commercial demand, the extract is derived from the roots of the Eurycoma Longifolia tree, which was once populous throughout the region.  It is not clear which Southeast Asian culture originated the use of the herb as a medical remedy, but Malaysia has certainly brought modern technology to the extract’s manufacturing process.

The original doctors had to arrange for excavation of the massive 3 meter root from mature Eurycoma Longifolia trees 36- 40 feet high.  Even today, there are no shortcuts for the critical step of excavation and harvesting of the heavy roots.  Of course, the original doctors has to sterilize the root, which was accomplished by boiling the roots and drying them several times over.

Days later when the roots were satisfactorily cleansed, they were ground into a powder form.  Usually the doctors prescribed Tongkat Ali as a treatment for high fever, including malaria.  The extract has an extremely bitter taste so patients usually mixed the medicine with tea or coffee.

As patients continued the use of the extract, they began to notice that not only was their fever reduced but they also experienced increased sex drive and high energy.  Apparently, these side effects outweighed the bitter taste.

Native doctors could not explain these effects but continued to explore other uses of the herb.  What they found was that the herb could be used to improve circulation and even relieve anxiety.  Soon, the wonder herb was used for a variety of general health issues.

The Tongkat Ali Extract’s role has certainly changed, but there is evidence to suggest that once again we have not fully utilized the herb’s healing powers.  After all, when the renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Malaysian government enter into a joint agreement to perform research and development on the root as a potential treatment for cancer, there must be more to the extract than we realize.

Most of the demand from the west is associated with increasing sex drive, improving the performance of sex organs and increasing testosterone in men and women.  However, when the London Sports Journal documented successful tests on use of the extract to increase muscle mass, bodybuilders responded with a vengeance.  As a natural herbal remedy, the extract is safe and although not yet approved for use in certain bodybuilding and weightlifting competitions, Tongkat Ali is recognized as a safe way to help increase strength and muscle mass.  This is just one more surprising benefit of Tongkat Ali.

As we learn more and more about Tongkat Ali, we can only wonder where it all will take us.  Little did those original Southeast Asian doctors know what they uncovered when they set about digging out those big roots of the Eurycoma Longifolia.  We owe those original doctors a lot, but think how large the supply of Tongkat Ali Extract will be when the deforested rainforests of Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam recover.  Perhaps then we will uncover all the wondrous therapies Tongkat Ali is capable of producing.

Things To Know About Tongkat Ali Extract

Written by Don McKerry on June 15, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali

To help new and experienced users of Tongkat Ali Extract, here is a mini- checklist to help sort through some of the rhetoric and exaggerations about the all-natural herbal extract.  Whether you are using the extract as a testosterone booster, a bodybuilding aid or as a general health remedy, certain procedures are consistent.

Collection and Harvesting – The collection and harvesting of the Tongkat Ali Extract is basically the same procedure as has been performed for centuries.  The extract is derived from the roots of mature trees called Eurycoma Longifolia.  The ideal tree is 20 – 30 years old and stands about 12 – 15 meters.  The tree contains evergreen-like foliage but is unique because of colorful clusters of flowers intertwined with the natural foliage.

The Eurycoma Longifolia trees are located in the rain forests of Southeast Asia.  The most prolific crops are located in Malaysia and Indonesia.  The Malaysian government has declared that the trees are protected and can only be accessed by native tribesmen.  These forests are called “Adat forests” and are owned by the tribal communities.

The roots of the Eurycoma Longifolia grow vertically.  The roots of the mature trees grow as much as nine feet of 3 meters underground.  To collect the roots requires heavy digging and heavy lifting.  The roots are long, heavy and cumbersome.  Each root usually requires three men to excavate.

The bark of the Eurycoma Longifolia contains many of the same ingredients that are in the roots. However, the concentration is significantly higher in the roots than in any other part of the tree.  The collection and harvesting process for the extract is dependent upon these mature roots.  Extract using younger roots are ineffective.

Extraction Process – Once the roots are collected, the natives carry them through the forests and transport them to the manufacturers. Today’s manufacturing process utilizes high-speed heating and cooling bins to cleanse the roots.  Most manufacturers prefer water as the extraction median but alcohol can also be used.  When they are processed, the roots are then ground into powder form.

Preparation For Distribution – The power is then shaped in capsule, tablet or powder form in varying strengths.  Strengths are designated according to the quantity of grams used to form the tablet.  For example, 1:100 Tongkat Ali Extract means that one gram of the extract was derived from 100 grams of the root powder.  The most powerful recommended strength is 1:200, although other strengths also work.
Most orders are received and delivered by online providers.  These providers use standard shipping carriers.  Standard, overnight and priority shipping options are available.

Use of Tongkat Ali Extract – The herbal medicine does not work the way products like Viagra or Cialis work.  The most effective way to use Tongkat Ali Extract is called “cycling.”  Each use should develop the cycling routine that works best for them.

The most popular cycling routine is to take two capsules from five days and then turn the cycle off by waiting two days before beginning the next five days on, two days off cycle.  This cycle will assure the user that they have sufficient testosterone to perform the way the want whenever they choose.

Users of Tongkat Ali will enjoy the flexibility of the extract and the many beneficial side effects, including increased energy.  Whether you seek increased libido, more muscle mass or overall improvement in your health, Tongkat Ali Extract will help accomplish your goals.

Questions To Ask From Your Tongkat Ali Supplier

Written by Don McKerry on June 8, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali

Where is Your Product Manufactured?

As with any product you purchase, you should know your supplier and as much about the manufacturer as possible.  The Tongkat Ali Extract manufactured in Malaysia is the best in the world.  The government has taken steps to assure the integrity of the extract produced in the country.  Malaysia has recently invested more than $6 million in equipment used to cleanse, dry, extract and grind the product for fulfillment.

As Tongkat Ali extract is not yet approved by the FDA, the manufacturing standards are left up to the manufacturer.  Manufacturers from other locales may not have the up-to-date equipment to assure the cleanliness and safety procedures used in Malaysia.  As you can imagine, the roots of the mature Eurycoma Longifolia extend deep into the ground.  As they have settled into the ground for 20 – 30 years, the roots are covered with bacteria.  If proper manufacturing techniques are used, this bacteria is eliminated before the extraction commences.

Some manufacturers from other areas have resorted to using roots from immature Eurycoma Longifolia or even from other areas of the tree.  While the bark of the tree does contain the same ingredients as the root, the density of these ingredients is drastically reduced if the bark is used.

You should ask your supplier where their Tongkat Ali Extract is manufactured, how old the Eurycoma Longifolia trees are from which the roots are separated and ask the to describe the cleansing and extraction process.  If your Tongkat Ali extract is produced in Malaysia, you can rely on the process.

Is Tongkat Ali Extract Safe?

The products produced in Malaysia are tested regularly for compliance with the government’s high standards.  Malaysia has invested in the process and has partnered with such institution as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the government of Japan on joint ventures.  Malaysia believes that Tongkat Ali has valuable medicinal qualities and takes pride in the manufacture of the extract.

As an all natural product, the extract contains no dangerous additives.  The extract is not habit forming.  The only reported negative side effect might be insomnia, which is only caused by overuse.

What dosage should I take?

The supplier should tell you that each user reacts differently to the extract.  Recommended strengths range from 1:20 to 1:200.  The amount of Tongkat Ali extract used can depend upon the user’s age, size and intent and the cycling routine.

You should ask your supplier’s recommendation about what cycle to use, what strength and what quantity is best for you.  You may very well begin with a lower strength and graduate to a higher potency.

What if I do Not Feel an Immediate Benefit?

Tongkat Ali Extract is not like Viagra in that the effects last all day and night.  However, some users find that it takes time for the testosterone builder to work.  Once in your regular cycle, you will feel the effects most of the time.  If you do not realize the benefits within two or three days, you can increase the strength or increase the quantity of your cycle.

What if I Take Too Much Tongkat Ali Extract?

Men and women who over indulge Tongkat Ali may notice a degree of nervous energy, insomnia or more aggressive qualities than usual.  Return to your usual dosage and cycling and the effects will dissipate.  A slight boost in dosage may positively increase your libido but normally that effect is not necessary.  For the best results, men and women should continue with their regular intake.

More News About Tongkat Ali Extract

Written by Don McKerry on June 1, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali

The most common question first time users ask about Tongkat Ali is “How does it work?”  Usually this question is asked enthusiastically but accompanied with an undertone of skepticism.

Tongkat Ali is the finest, most powerful, most consistent all-natural testosterone booster ever manufactured.  The product is an effective and safe aphrodisiac for men and women and is used by both.

The human body produces free testosterone and manufactured testosterone.  Normally, when men and women are inclined to engage in sexual activity, testosterone levels become elevated.  At a certain point, the body signals the hypothalamus and pituitary glands to decrease the production of testosterone.  This signal is emitted by an increase in the body’s sexual hormones, androgens and estrogens.

The Tongkat Ali Extract overrides the normal shut off process and stimulates the hypothalamus and pituitary glands to continue producing testosterone.  The result is that the human libido increases as well as the effectiveness of the human sex organs.   The level of free testosterone also increases.  For men, this usually means an increase in the size of the penis and testicles.  Women can expect increased libido and tightening of the vaginal walls and elevated levels of vaginal fluids.  For both men and women, more powerful and longer-lasting orgasms are commonplace when the extract is ingested.

Primarily known for its testosterone boosting capabilities, Tongkat Ali has become popular with bodybuilders and weightlifters.  This is the result of research performed in Malaysia, the chief manufacturer of Tongkat Ali, and reported in the London Sports Journal.

A recent report from Kuala Lampur and reported in The New Sunday Times says that a study conducted by the Malaysian government in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) produced some compelling results.  The team discovered that some of the chemical constituents found in the Eurycoma Longifolia tree and in the tree’s root could be effective as an anti-cancer and anti-HIV treatment.

Razak Mohd Ali, the Director-General of the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia was quoted by The New Sunday Times as saying that research suggested these chemical qualities could be more effective than the chemical used in existing anti-cancer drugs.  The Malaysian government and MIT have patented their research and will be continuing with their historic refinement of their findings.

Historically, the natives o Southeast Asia have used the extract for a variety of health reasons as well as for the improvement of their sexual performance.  Common uses have been for the treatment of fever, including malaria, for the improvement of circulation by the heart, for curing skin disease and for the improvement of overall health.

Recently, the esteemed Dr. Oz of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City asked renowned alternative medicine expert, Chris Kilham, to appear on the doctor’s international television show to introduce and explain his findings relative to Tongkat Ali.  While primarily focused on the herb’s testosterone capabilities, Kilham suggested the extract could have other benefits.  Oz, Kilham and a member of the audience sample the extract on live television.

Immediately following the show, demand for the extract increased dramatically.  Although Oz and Kilham mixed the Tongkat Ali powder in coffee, modern technology now enables users to acquire the extract in tablet, capsule or liquid form.  However you use this libido increaser, you will notice increased sexual and physical energy.  Try Tongkat Ali Extract today! You and your partner will be glad you did.

Questions About Tongkat Ali Extract

Written by Don McKerry on May 23, 2010 - View Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

Ever since Dr. Mehmet Oz endorsed the use of Tongkat Ali on his television show on March 24th, questions about Tongkat Ali Extract have flooded the internet. Below are a few of the most commonly asked questions along with the answers.

Question: How does Tongkat Ali increase testosterone levels?

Answer: When testosterone levels are elevated, the sexual hormones signal the body to decrease or halt testosterone production. Tongkat Ali increases the production of free testosterone. With full testosterone production, the penis and testicles increase in size and allows for a more powerful and more sustained erection. Tongkat Ali overrides the bound testosterone production process by stimulating the hypothalamus and pituitary glands to allow for the continued production of testosterone.

Question: Is Tongkat Ali safe?

Answer: Tongkat Ali Extract has been used in southeast Asia for centuries. The herbal extract has passed both acute and chronic (90 days with maximum dosage) testing. Tongkat Ali is not a steroid and as an all-natural alternative medicine is non-habit forming and increases free testosterone as well as improves the level of bound testosterone. The herb’s most common side effect is insomnia. The effect only occurs in instances of over-dosage.

Question: How is Tongkat Ali shipped?

Answer: Tongkat Ali is now packaged for modern day shipping. The extract is sold in capsule, tablet, powdered and liquid form. Many users prefer the powder in order to mix with coffee. In its raw form, the herb has a notoriously bitter taste. Tongkat Ali is sold in several strengths which are selected by the purchaser.

Question: What are the side effects associated with Tongkat Ali?

Answer: The most common side effects of Tongkat Ali include increased sexual drive and sexual function. Side effects depend upon the individual’s age and overall health. Men and women experience increased energy levels and elevated libidos. Women experience tightening of the vaginal walls and increased vaginal wetness.

Question: Has Tongkat Ali been tested?

Answer: Tongkat Ali has been tested on rats and mice for a long time. However, the herbal extract underwent successful testing by the British Journal of Sports Medicine in 2003. Results indicated that use of Tongkat Ali improved muscle mass and growth. The most meaningful test results on humans were delivered in a 2005 report from ZRT laboratories. These tests determined that almost 85% of Tongkat Ali Extract users showed increased testosterone levels; some by as much as 200%. It should also be noted that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has worked with the Malaysian government to develop the patent of a drug using the herb as a possible cure for pulmonary disease. Scientists from Japan and the U.S. have worked with Tongkat Ali as a possible cure for various cancers.

Question: Is Tongkat Ali used in coffee?

Answer: Natives of southeast Asia have been using Tongkat Ali Extract for centuries. The raw form of the herb should not be ingested until completely sanitized. In southeast Asia, the powdered herb is often mixed with coffee. The taste is still bitter but is preferred by the natives. It is in this coffee form that Dr. Oz introduced the Tongkat Ali Extract to his television audience on March 24th.

Question: Is the manufacture of Tongkat Ali standardized?

Answer: The production of herbal medicines is generally not standardized. It is important that consumers be aware of the production process used bythe manufacturer. Tongkat Ali Extract is most effective when the roots of mature Eurycoma Longifolia trees are used. Some unreliable providers have started using the roots of immature tree. The extract from these younger trees does not yield the same results as the extract from mature trees.

Question: Who uses Tongkat Ali Extract?

Answer: Users of Tongkat Ali are divided into two main categories; persons interested in increasing sexual performance and persons interested in a legal, safe muscle builder. Tongkat Ali increases free testosterone levels and overrides bound testosterone and thus increases libido in both men and women.

In summary, users should know that Tongkat Ali has long been acknowledged as a beneficial herb. The extract’s positive effects are diverse and proven. While the extract has only recently received attention from the west, the demand for the herb as a sexual facilitator has certainly increased world awareness of Tongkat Ali.
