By now, you have probably heard so many glowing reports about the alternative herbal medicine known as Tongkat Ali Extract that you think it is too good to be true. Doubtless, you know that the product was endorsed by one of the world’s foremost heart surgeons, a best selling author of 5 books on human health who also happens to host one of the world’s most compelling television shows, Dr Mehmet Oz.

Perhaps you saw the 2010 show where Oz, a Vice Chair and Professor of Medicine at the distinguished Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, invited an audience guest to sample nature’s greatest aphrodisiac. You might even wish you had been there to talk with the good doctor.

Or, you may have read the about the study published by the London Sports Journal toting Tongkat Ali Extract as a tremendously effective natural aid to bodybuilders. The study revealed that males who used the herbal extract recorded significantly increased muscle mass compared to males who did not use the extract.

Most certainly you have seen studies that demonstrate Tongkat Ali’s seemingly magical powers in terms of increasing the testosterone levels in men and women. You probably know that a majority of users of PDE-5 products like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra do not refill their prescriptions because while they may aid the male in achieving an erection, they do nothing to increase the male’s desire or appetite for sex. Hence, most users experience frustrating disappointments.

You know that the male body begins to slow down the production of testosterone after age 30. Well, you know that Tongkat Ali provides a successful alternative to this natural condition.

If you are like me, you have begun to wonder about supply and demand. If you have read any of my other Tongkat Ali Extract reports, you know that the prime source for this alternative medicine is in Malaysia, where the mature trees of the Eurycoma Longifolia trees are still prevalent. You know that the true Tongkat Ali Extract is derived from the 9 – 12 foot vertical roots of 20-25 year old trees.

Then, you try to imagine how the local natives can manually uproot enough of these trees to fulfill the rapidly rising demand. You also wonder about the economic viability of this wonder-extract.

So, if you are like me, you need to know more. Thanks to a report from the University of Malaysia and another report from a private company named DaXingAnLing Lingonberry Organic Foodstuffs Co., Ltd. you can take heart. The good people that are manufacturing this all-natural testosterone booster are improving the production and have a sharp eye on the bottom line.

We want that. We do not want to run out of this valuable product that once seemed so threatened by the deforestation of the rain forests in Southeast Asia where natives have been excavating and formulating the extract for centuries.

If you are like me, you like knowing that responsible manufacturers are doing it right. You might even wonder why the FDA is slow to approve this natural remedy used by millions of people to treat a myriad of health problems including low testosterone.

You like the fact that the Malaysian government is taking over as the main steward of this wonderful medicine. They should. They are vested. Malaysia has invested heavily in the manufacutring process as well as the research and development of potential drugs to treat cancer. You are interested that the esteeemed Massachusets Institute of Technology has partnenred with the giovernement to patent a possibe therapy for breast cancer.

If you are like me, you read carefully the University of Malaysia’s recommnedations to improve and hasten the manufacturing cycle. You like the fact that there are standards for the manufacture of this prized commodity.

You take heart that this is a profitable venture and not some online fly-by-night enterprise that takes your money and runs. If you are like me, you research the provider, make sure you are buying legitimate Tongakt Ali Extract manufactured in Malaysia and sold responsobly by reputable providers.

If you are like me, you wait anxiously for your next and every subsequent re-oreder of this amazing, Dr, Oz endorsed, testosterone booster.

Tongkat Ali Success Breeds Success

As the popularity of Tongkat Ali continues to serve as the best testimony of the testosterone boosting abilities of the all-natural medicine, the rumors keep coming. Now, doomsayers question the validity of the supply chain.

Most of this concern is based upon the deforestation of many of the rainforests in Southeast Asia. Malaysia, Indonesia and Burma fully realize the strength of the global demand and have taken measure to protect their supply.

However, if you have had a negative experience with Tongkat Ali Extract, the chances are that you were either sold the root powder rather than the extract or a watered down version of the herbal extract.

Indeed, in most areas where the Eurycoma Longifolia are prevalent, the trees are protected and can only be harvested by the natives who actually own large Eurycoma Longifolia plantations. Combining this internal control with ongoing research by the University of Malaysia specifically designed to improve the manufacturing process, most of the issues raised by persons attempting to drive the price higher are unfounded.

In the retail trade of Tongkat Ali Extract, there is no question that there are unscrupulous online retail pretenders. The existence of these providers who do not sell the factory produced herbal extract but usually a diluted version of the true extract is enabled by the fact that the industry refuses to accept Malaysia’s recommended standardization processes.

If a user acquires Tongkat Ali Extract from an unproven, unreliable provider, the chances are good that they are not purchasing authentic Tongkat Ali Extract. Malaysian Tongkat Ali Extract is manufactured in four basic strengths; 1:50, 1:100. 1:150 and 1:200.

Of these four strengths, 1:200 is the most popular. Some users begin their Tongkat Ali use by trying weaker strengths and working their way up the scale, so to speak. In some ways, this approach makes sense because everyone’s Tongkat Ali Extract experience is unique to the individual.

However, the reason 1:200 strength is so popular is that it is consistent and effective when used in a regular cycling program. Persons new to Tongkat Ali must also be careful that they are acquiring not only the Malaysian manufactured product and that they are not acquiring the Tongkat Ali Root Powder, a poor imitation to the extract.

In terms of supply and demand, manufacturers are working closely with the government and the natives to improve the harvesting of the precious eurycoma longifolia trees. If there is a concern, it is that the market has exploded ahead of expectations.

While some western cultures are reserved in their acceptance of alternative medicines and therapies, that is not the case in most eastern cultures. Tongkat Ali Extract is well known throughout Southeast Asia, but now the appeal has spread to China.

China’s entrance into the Tongkat Ali marketplace has the potential to impact supply. As China’s economy continues to expand, there are more and more orders being processed for shipment to China.

The largest supply of Eurycoma Longifolia is in the massive rainforests of Indonesia. These virgin hot beds of the trees are carefully protected. As long as these rainforests and the rainforests in Burma and Malaysia are protected, it seems the price of Tongkat Ali Extract will remain stable.

Malaysia manufactured Tongkat Ali Extract is shipped in Capsule, tablet, liquid or powdered form. Bottles are sealed and labeled so the user has the specification of the extract inside the bottle or container. If you are receiving a product that does not indicate the strength, origin and elements used in the formulation, do not accept shipment. You should always get contact information for companies from whom you purchase goods online and this is just one more good reason to follow that practice.

Eurycoma Longifolia Tested in China

Written by Don McKerry on January 12, 2011 - 0 Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

The results of my most recent research were surprising. I had read that there was now a demand for Tongkat Ali Extract in China. Knowing how thoroughly the Chinese investigate imported materials and given their propensity to find new products to produce, I sought Chinese based tests results regarding Tongkat Ali Extract.

It seems the Chinese have been quietly testing the roots of the eurycoma longifolia and Tongkat Ali Extract since 1992. Numerous test descriptions and conclusions were posted by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal.

Several articles caught my attention. One, entitled Characterization of the Water Soluble Fraction from the Root Extract of Eurycoma Longifolia was particularly informative. As summarized in the following description, this test sought to identify the compounds found in Tongkat Ali.

“Investigation of the chemical composition of the water soluble fraction of the methanolic extract of the roots of Eurycoma longifolia, a medicinal plant popularly known as “Tongkat Ali”, afforded three quassinoid diterpenoids, sugar and amino acid fractions.”

After identifying the three quassinoid diterpenoids, the research examined the relationships and potential benefits of the individual ingredients.

“The sugar fraction was analyzed for its qualitative and quantitative carbohydrate content and glucose and fructose were identified. Quantification of these natural free sugars was achieved by HPLC using refractive index detection. The total amino acid concentration and the amino acid pattern, i.e., the relative proportion of each amino acid to the total amino acids, in the amino acid fraction were analyzed using an amino acid analyzer. Twenty-five amino acids were identified. The predominant amino acids were alanine, proline, arginine, and serine summing up to 53.39% of the total. The isolated quassinoid diterpenes exhibited potent cytotoxicity and anti-malarial activity.”

Indeed, it was these anti-malarial results that originally led the natives of Southeast Asia to develop and use Tongkat Ali Extract. The herbal extract’s abilities to boost testosterone and increase libido were a welcome side effect. Now, western cultures and many eastern cultures are using the extract to improve their sexual performance and provide healthier sex organs.

But, it is clear that the remarkable product has significant medicinal value. A further study performed by Dr. Kuo’s Department of Chemistry at the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan had similar results but went a few steps further.

“Sixty-five compounds were isolated from the roots of Eurycoma Longifolia and characterized by comprehensive analyses of their 1D and 2D NMR, and mass spectral data. Among these isolates, four quassinoid diterpenoids were reported from natural sources for the first time, namely eurycomalide A (1), eurycomalide B (2), 13 beta, 21-dihydroxyeurycomanol (3), and 5 alpha, 14 beta, 15 beta-trihydroxyklaineanone (4). Screening of cytotoxicity, anti-HIV and anti-malarial activity of these isolated compounds was also furnished by in vitro assays.

Compounds 12, 13, 17, 18, 36, 38, 59, and 62 demonstrated strong cytotoxicity toward human lung cancer (A-549) cell lines, however, 12, 13, 17, 38, 57, 58, and 59 exhibited strong cytoxicity toward human breast cancer (MCF-7) cell lines. Compounds 57 and 58 displayed potent anti-malarial activity against the resistant Plasmodium falciparum. The thorough studies on the stereochemistry of the different quassinoid diterpenoids provide a clear reference to the scientists who are interested on this field.”

Since becoming interested in the Tongkat Ali Extract, I have heard and read numerous accounts of the potential use of the extract as a deterrent against Malaria and a product that could be used to fight breast cancer and lung cancer. It was gratifying to find supporting research validating thee claims.

In all, I located 5 Chinese research studies with the most recent concluded in 2009. These studies were based on the medicinal qualities of the Tongkat Ali Extract rather than on the testosterone boosting abilities.

For me, these results were meaningful because for the most part, online bloggers can say just about anything. If you would like to learn more about the malaria and cancer fighting qualities of Tongkat Ali Extract may I suggest that you visit this link.

Hopefully, these tests will put your mind at rest about the accuracy of the many benefits of Tongkat Ali Extract. If the medicine can be used to prevent cancer, that would be especially significant. In the meantime, while the scientists around the world are conducting this research, we can be using the product for its inherent ability to boost testosterone and improve our sexual performance.

What Your Doctor Won’t Tell You About ED

Written by Don McKerry on December 29, 2010 - 0 Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

The airwaves, magazines and Internet are filled with hype about erectile dysfunction.  Meanwhile, physicians are capturing big financial gains from pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer by simply prescribing PDE-5 medications.  Most physicians prescribe Viagra, Cialis or Levitra to patients suffering erectile dysfunction (ED).

While the manufacturers have done yeoman’s work in marketing and promoting their PDE-5 medications, there are a number of things doctors do not tell patients to whom they prescribe these products:

  1. PDE-5’s do not increase libido.  The use of Levitra, Viagra or Cialis can help the male create an erection but do nothing to increase the sufferer’s lack of desire for sex.
  2. The majority of PDE-5 users realize no benefit from the prescribed medication.  More than 60 percent of first-time Viagra users do not renew their prescriptions.  The reasons for this is that the patients were not educated properly as to what to expect and that because the libido is not increased the males do not have any more desire for sex than they did before using the product.  What men and women enjoy about sex is partly driven by desire and intimacy.
  3. In many cases, the males are humiliated by the restrictions imposed by these medicines.  There is no definite response time, which varies from patient to patient.  Also, users must be careful what they eat, what they drink and what other medicines they take if they desire to use PDE-5’s.  In the first year, Viagra was released, more than 200 fatalities were linked to the PDE-5.

Many times the prescribing physician does not feel it is his or her responsibility to have open discussions about erectile dysfunction and other possible remedies or even causes.  The easy and quick way out is to simply hand out literature about Viagra, Cialis or Levitra and write the prescription.

As more and more physicians are coming to realize, there are many alternative therapies for today’s medical conditions.  In every one of his five best-selling medical books, Dr. Mehmet Oz, the noted heart surgeon at the renowned Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, seems to go out of his way to tout the value of alternative therapies.

These all-natural medicines are neither habit-forming nor dangerous.  Additionally, most of these remedies have been used successfully by regional cultures for thousands of years.  It is hard to argue with safe success.

What most doctors do not explain to patients with erectile dysfunction is that the condition is often attributed to the natural deterioration of the body’s testosterone level.  At about age 30, the male begins to produce less testosterone each year.  After ten years or more, this decreased production takes a toll on the male body.

As the male’s primary sex hormone, man will experience lower sex performance and lower sex drive with this unfortunate decrease.  What the male body needs is not a PDE-5 but rather a product that will boost the testosterone level and care for the primary and secondary sex organs.

The product that Dr. Oz has introduced on his now highly regarded national television show that is nature’s own aphrodisiac and most prolific creator of testosterone is Tongkat Ali Extract.  The only reliable manufacturers of this herbal extract are located in Malaysia.

As one can imagine an endorsement from Dr. Oz literally led to an unexpected surge in demand for the age-old Southeast Asian remedy.  Now, much media attention has focused on the proven testosterone booster.

As a result, many Tongkat Ali wannabe manufacturers have amazingly arrived on the scene.  In an unregulated industry where only the Malaysian government appears interested in establishing standardized and declared processes, the message to the buyer is clear.  Buyer beware.

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to know what he is acquiring.  Tongkat Ali Extract from Malaysia is derived from the mature roots of the tree Eurycoma Longifiolia.  If the tree is not 20 – 25 years old, the product will not be reliable.

Additionally, the Malaysian government has spent millions of dollars in updating the clean and sterilized manufacturing centers.  Purchasing Malaysian manufactured Tongkat Ali Extract will assure the buyer a safe, reliable product with all the benefits of increased testosterone.

What your doctor will not tell you is that Tongkat Ali can help treat you ED and help increase your sex drive.  That is the combination you seek. Let Tongkat Ali Extract show you the way.

Demand for Tongkat Ali Extract On Rise

Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

We knew this would happen.  When Dr. Mehmet Oz endorsed Tongkat Ali Extract as nature’s finest aphrodisiac, demand for the extract in the west increased dramatically.  Pressure on the manufacturers in Malaysia to keep pace has been intense.  When the London Sports Journal released its report showing the herbal extract was beneficial to bodybuilders, large quantities of Tongkat Ali Extract began to be shipped to the UK.

When Dr. Oz came on board, demand in North America immediately rose.  Had the Malaysian government not invested million of dollars in advancing and perfecting the manufacturing process, demand would have exceeded supply in no time.

Fortunately the equipment and technology to produce large quantities of pure Tongkat Ali Extract is in place.  However, there is no way to control the supply of the root product.

Unfortunately, many of the Southeast Asian rainforests have been destroyed by conflicts in the region.  Before the deforestation of these prolific areas, the supply of what at one time seemed an endless supply of mature Eurycoma Longifolia trees seemed infinite.  It is from the vertical roots of these 20-25 year old trees that raw Tongkat Ali is drawn.

The roots are dug out by natives in Malaysia and Indonesia. The excavation work is difficult and extremely tedious.  It usually requires three natives to harvest the root of one tree.  When enough roots for a shipment are gathered, the raw material is sent to manufacturing plants in Kuala Lampur.

Upon arrival the roots are purified, washed and dried repeatedly for several days.  The manufacturing facility contains huge state-of-the-art washer and dryer bins.  Before the roots are chipped, they are cleansed over several days.

In Malaysia, the proper manufacturing process is serious work.  The country has invested heavily in nature’s best testosterone builder. Malaysia is the foremost authority on all matters Tongkat Ali Extract.  The government and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have entered into a joint patent for the extract to research and develop a successful treatment for breast cancer.

While Malaysia is the most reputable manufacturer of Tongkat Ali n the world, the government has pressed other manufacturers to standardize the industry.  Most manufacturers do not have the technology or basic equipment to keep pace with the new demand.

As a result, many manufacturers are providing embarrassing imitations of the real extract.  These inconsistencies can stem from the use of immature trees to imperfect sterilization products.   Imagine a root in the ground for 20 years not being thoroughly cleansed.

In Malaysia, consumer safety is a big factor.  The only problem with Malaysian Tongkat Ali Extract, is supply.  Now, the Chinese have discovered the benefits of the natural  herbal extract.

Whatever China does something, they pursue it in large quantities.  This has led many consumers to place larger orders than in the past.  Once users see how well Tongkat Ali Extract works, they are anxious to continue use of the product.  Once the Chinese begin to order the product en masse, supply could come into question.

For those who recognize the admirable physical and emotional benefits of continued Tongkat Ali Extract use, it is a good time to consider bulk purchases.  The hard reality is that there are only so many Eurycoma Longifolia trees.

The unique Malaysian manufacturing process enables consumers to rely on consistent results from the properly cycled use of the extract. Users have come to recognoze the following benefits:

  • Increased testosterone, the male body’s primary sex hormone.
  • Increased libido
  • Increased energy levels
  • Increased recovery after exercise or sex
  • An overall sense of well-being
  • Increase in muscle mass
  • Reduction in body fat
  • Increase in self-confidence

One of the great advantages of Tongkat Ali Extract is that the male sex drive assists with erectile dysfunction issues.   The male who may have lost interest in sex because of age and the natural decrease in testosterone will now find himself eager to have sex.  For a healthier approach to life, make sure you have an abundant supply of Tongkat Ali Extract from Malaysia.

Tongkat Ali Extract Purchasing Guidelines

Written by Don McKerry on December 15, 2010 - 0 Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

Like all prescription or alternative medicines, the first thing new users of Tongkat Ali Extract must do is read all labels and any usage instructions provided by the manufacturers. Tongkat Ali Extract will increase your testosterone levels and you will realize the anticipated positive results but only if you follow the instructions for proper use.

Tongkat Ali Extract manufactured in Malaysia is the real deal. Tongkat Ali Extract from Malaysia is what the media, doctors like Mehmet Oz and others refer to when they endorse this alternative treatment for low testosterone.

Tongkat Ali Extract is the herbal product most often used to treat low libido and erectile dysfunction. The extract is also used by bodybuilders who have read the report from the London Sports Journal explaining the product’s amazing capabilities.

The Tongkat Ali Extract is the most effective, most efficient form of the herb derived from the mature roots of the Eurycoma Longifolia Tree. The Malaysian government has invested millions of dollars in perfecting the manufacturing process. The industry and the world need the standardization that the Malaysian producers have brought to the marketplace. If the purchaser acquires Tongkat Ali Extract from any other provider outside Malaysia, there are no guarantees what is actually being purchased.

The most popular strengths of Tongkat Ali Extract are 1:50, 1:100 and 1:200. If you purchase 1:200 Tongkat Ali Extract, you are purchasing a tablet, capsule or liquid where every part of the extract contains 200 parts of the extract. This is far and away the most popular mixture of the extract.

Users who take one 1:200 tablet every 6 hours for six weeks before taking a two week break in the cycle will recognize these short-term gains:

  • After week one, the user will have a testosterone level higher than average and will notice increased sex drive.
  • After week two, the user will notice increased strength and a quicker recovery period after working out or after sex.
  • After week three, the user will again feel stronger and will have an increased sense of well-being. The user may notice a slightly more aggressive approach to daily workouts. Some users become short tempered until the testosterone level stabilizes.
  • After week four, the user will notice more lean muscle, very quick recovery and increased confidence in just about everything the user attempts.
  • After weeks 5 and 6, the user will be very aware of the increased testosterone. The user’s body fat will be noticeably reduced and the user should be prepared for sex at any time of any day.

This six weeks on and two weeks off is the most popular form of cycling for both bodybuilders and non-body builders who simply want the benefits of increased testosterone to treat changes in their lifestyle.

In summary of this six week cycle, the users should realize there could be several side effects:

  • Slightly increased level of aggression when exercising.
  • Slight restlessness and difficulty going to sleep while the body adjusts to the new testosterone level.
  • Raised libido
  • Increased sexual performance and increased recovery rate.

For users who are primarily interested in bodybuilding, the cycle of use is often extended to eight weeks on and three weeks off. Again, these results are based on use of the 1;200 Tongkat Ali Extract.

Tongkat Ali Extract 1;200 can be purchased in either tablet, capsule, liquid or powder form. Malaysian manufacturers provide the Tongkat Ali Extract products in tightly sealed containers that make shipping of the products easy. Worldwide shipping of the products is available so that your shipment can be delivered to your home anywhere in the world.

Malaysian produced Tongkat Ali Extract is the future of the industry. If you want to experience the real effects of the genuine extract, only purchase Malaysian produced Tongkat Ali.

Be Real – Tongkat Ali Extract vs. PDE-5 Inhibitors

Written by Don McKerry on December 8, 2010 - 0 Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

Misunderstandings about the true effects of PDE-5’s and the true effects of Tongkat Ali Extract continue to run rampant. Men who think that PDE-5’s are the end-all cure for erectile dysfunction are in for a disappointment. Meanwhile, demand for Tongkat Ali Extract as a comprehensive treatment for erectile dysfunction and for enhancement of the male sex organs continues to balloon.

Compared to standard remedies for erectile dysfunction, oral ingestion of the PDE-5 inhibitors like Viagra, Levitra and Cialis are the easiest, least invasive, of doctor-recommended treatments. The use of these oral prescriptions is easy. Users simple take the pill and swallow. With proper stimulation, the user may achieve an erection in approximately one hour. The impact of the PDE-5’s can be affected by what food and drink the user had consumed and when, but the effectiveness of the pill is dependent upon the presence of the desire fore sex.

However, it should be clearly understood that there are no guarantees with the PDE-5’s. The only thing that is certain is that the user who is not stimulated will not achieve an erection. Even the timing of the erection varies from user to user.

In general, the majority of users of the prescription PDE-5’s are disappointed with the outcome. Additionally, most health insurance carriers have firm restrictions on the number of pills allowed per user per month. The prescribed limit is usually four pills per month. After that, the user is on his own and the cost of the medication without a prescription is very pricey.

Users of Tongkat Ali Extract have a much fuller and much more complete sexual experience. Most noticeable is the fact that because Tongkat Ali Extract increases the amount of testosterone dramatically, the user has a higher libido and is ready for sex whenever the occasion is right.

This is not the case with Viagra, Cialis or Levitra. In theory, the oral PDE-5’s work by inhibiting the PD-5 enzyme, which attacks cyclic guanosine mono-phosphate (cGMP). When cGMP is released during sexual arousal, the male can achieve an erection. cGMP is one of several bodily chemicals that leads to smooth muscle relaxation and penile enlargement. In theory, this sounds like a successful formula.

The problem is that men misunderstand their own erectile dysfunction. The majority of men believe that simply ingesting the prescribed pill will make them desire sex with their partner more often. The reality is that it is the testosterone hormone that is the chief contributor to libido or man’s desire to have sex. Even with PDE-5 ingested in the male body, the man will not enjoy or desire sex with the same vigor that he once did.

The ability of Tongkat Ali Extract to produce extra testosterone is now proven and accepted. Although not yet approved by the FDA in the U.S., many North Americans continue to acquire the product to increase their sexual performance and to feel the excitement that once was easy to feel.

Tongkat Ali Extract is produced in several strengths. The most popular strength is 1:200. Taken in a regular cycle of six weeks on and two weeks off the herbal extract, users who take four pills or tablets per day will regain their sexual appetite and improve their performance and recovery abilities.

Users who compare PDE-5’s to Tongkat Ali are making a mistake. Increasing the male testosterone levels has many and much broader implications for the user. Healthy testosterone levels impacts men in many ways including increased energy levels, increased muscle mass, a reduction in body fat and improved psychological outlook.

Let’s be clear that PDE-5’s make no pretense at increasing the male sex drive. On the other hand, their advertisements are misleading. Stimulation and the desire for sex must be present in order for the male to achieve an erection. This is why some reports indicate that as many as 80 percent of PDE-5 users are disenchanted with their prescription.

On the other hand, more Tongkat Ali Extract is being sold each month. The product is now distributed around the globe. Users who do not try Tongkat Ali Extract are not serious about improving their desire for sex and their performance level. Order Malaysian-made Tongkat Ali Extract today and find out what millions of users already know. Tongkat Ali Extract really works.

Questions About Tongkat Ali Extract

Written by Don McKerry on May 23, 2010 - 0 Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

Ever since Dr. Mehmet Oz endorsed the use of Tongkat Ali on his television show on March 24th, questions about Tongkat Ali Extract have flooded the internet. Below are a few of the most commonly asked questions along with the answers.

Question: How does Tongkat Ali increase testosterone levels?

Answer: When testosterone levels are elevated, the sexual hormones signal the body to decrease or halt testosterone production. Tongkat Ali increases the production of free testosterone. With full testosterone production, the penis and testicles increase in size and allows for a more powerful and more sustained erection. Tongkat Ali overrides the bound testosterone production process by stimulating the hypothalamus and pituitary glands to allow for the continued production of testosterone.

Question: Is Tongkat Ali safe?

Answer: Tongkat Ali Extract has been used in southeast Asia for centuries. The herbal extract has passed both acute and chronic (90 days with maximum dosage) testing. Tongkat Ali is not a steroid and as an all-natural alternative medicine is non-habit forming and increases free testosterone as well as improves the level of bound testosterone. The herb’s most common side effect is insomnia. The effect only occurs in instances of over-dosage.

Question: How is Tongkat Ali shipped?

Answer: Tongkat Ali is now packaged for modern day shipping. The extract is sold in capsule, tablet, powdered and liquid form. Many users prefer the powder in order to mix with coffee. In its raw form, the herb has a notoriously bitter taste. Tongkat Ali is sold in several strengths which are selected by the purchaser.

Question: What are the side effects associated with Tongkat Ali?

Answer: The most common side effects of Tongkat Ali include increased sexual drive and sexual function. Side effects depend upon the individual’s age and overall health. Men and women experience increased energy levels and elevated libidos. Women experience tightening of the vaginal walls and increased vaginal wetness.

Question: Has Tongkat Ali been tested?

Answer: Tongkat Ali has been tested on rats and mice for a long time. However, the herbal extract underwent successful testing by the British Journal of Sports Medicine in 2003. Results indicated that use of Tongkat Ali improved muscle mass and growth. The most meaningful test results on humans were delivered in a 2005 report from ZRT laboratories. These tests determined that almost 85% of Tongkat Ali Extract users showed increased testosterone levels; some by as much as 200%. It should also be noted that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has worked with the Malaysian government to develop the patent of a drug using the herb as a possible cure for pulmonary disease. Scientists from Japan and the U.S. have worked with Tongkat Ali as a possible cure for various cancers.

Question: Is Tongkat Ali used in coffee?

Answer: Natives of southeast Asia have been using Tongkat Ali Extract for centuries. The raw form of the herb should not be ingested until completely sanitized. In southeast Asia, the powdered herb is often mixed with coffee. The taste is still bitter but is preferred by the natives. It is in this coffee form that Dr. Oz introduced the Tongkat Ali Extract to his television audience on March 24th.

Question: Is the manufacture of Tongkat Ali standardized?

Answer: The production of herbal medicines is generally not standardized. It is important that consumers be aware of the production process used bythe manufacturer. Tongkat Ali Extract is most effective when the roots of mature Eurycoma Longifolia trees are used. Some unreliable providers have started using the roots of immature tree. The extract from these younger trees does not yield the same results as the extract from mature trees.

Question: Who uses Tongkat Ali Extract?

Answer: Users of Tongkat Ali are divided into two main categories; persons interested in increasing sexual performance and persons interested in a legal, safe muscle builder. Tongkat Ali increases free testosterone levels and overrides bound testosterone and thus increases libido in both men and women.

In summary, users should know that Tongkat Ali has long been acknowledged as a beneficial herb. The extract’s positive effects are diverse and proven. While the extract has only recently received attention from the west, the demand for the herb as a sexual facilitator has certainly increased world awareness of Tongkat Ali.

Tongkat Ali Extract – An Abundance of Misinformation

Written by Don McKerry on May 16, 2010 - 0 Comments
Categories: Tongkat Ali, Tongkat Ali Extract

Ever since Dr. Mehmet Oz of Columbia University and noted alternative medicine expert Chris Killian discussed the significance of herbal remedies on the Doctor’s popular television show, interest in Tongkat Ali as a testosterone booster and proven aphrodisiac for men and women has risen dramatically. Persons researching Tongkat Ali will quickly realize that there is an abundance of conflicting information about the herbal extract. Much of the misinformation is due to the fact that the industry is not standardized.

As a result, each manufacturer has different criteria for extraction and for accountability. Users should understand that when purchasing the popular extract, the integrity of the manufacturer directly impacts the integrity of the product.

As such, users are advised to only purchase from providers that stand behind their production process. Tongkat Ali Extract can be purchased through a number of online providers as well as through brick and mortar distribution centers. New users should be insistent about verifying the ingredients and the provider’s manufacturing process.

In fact, Tongkat Ali Extract is derived from the mature roots of the 20 to 30 year old Eurycoma Longifolia trees, indigenous to Southeast Asia. Some providers seeking to capitalize on the amazing demand for the herbal extract have begun to use roots from immature trees. Though easier to harvest, the resulting extracts will not bear the same, high-level results as the roots from fully developed trees.

The development of high quality Tongkat Ali Extract begins with the native harvesting of the 2-3 meter long vertical roots of the Eurycoma Longifolia. This excavation is a laborious effort performed in the intense heat and humidity of the rain forests in Malaysia and Indonesia. The Eurycoma Longifolia used to be more dominant in the region but the deforestation of Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand have reduced the supply of the colorful trees. If users purchase Tongkat Ali that is not derived from mature roots, the results will be tainted and not equal to the benefits of manufacturers who insist on mature roots only.

Tongkat Ali wannabe manufacturers will not have standardized procedures to nurse the raw material through the production stages. The cleansing of the raw roots is essential to a proper end result. The outside layer of the root contains bacteria that must be effectively cleansed to ensure the integrity of the product. The cleansing process includes several cycles of washing, boiling and drying before the material is ready for extraction.

The cleansing process must be tightly controlled. Today, Malaysian manufacturers use large and shiny stainless steel bins to wash, boil and dry the raw roots. Because manufacturing standards vary so much, new users should inquire about the process used to produce the extract by the new provider. If the provider is reluctant to discuss how their product is manufactured, the user should move on to another distributor. Basically, buyer beware is the best philosophy for new users. Once the user finds a reliable provider, it is best to stay with that distributor.

There is also inconsistency in the advertised strength of the extract. Technically, the strength is conveyed through a ratio of grams of the ground herbal root used to produce one gram of dried extract in the water extraction process. Popular strengths range from 1:10 up to 1:200, meaning that 200 grams of dried roots are used to produce one gram of dried extract. Tongkat Ali Extract 1:200 is the most potent and safe composition. New users should verify that the advertised ratio complies with these measuring standards.

Tongkat Ali has been dubbed Asian Viagra, but there are many distinctions between the two erectile dysfunction therapies. Whereas Viagra is usually taken one hour before sexual activity, Tongkat Ali is taken once or twice a day in a cycling routine that best suit’s the user’s lifestyle and sexual activity. However, women report the best results from Tongkat Ali when taken one or two hours prior to sex.

As an all natural herbal treatment, Tongkat Ali is non-habit forming and yields minor side effects such as restlessness or insomnia. Users do report increased energy levels within the first week. Viagra has many more serious side effects and users should acquaint themselves with all the risks of the medicine. Just as Dr Oz said on March 24th, there are little to no risks when using herbal medications.

Tongkat Ali Extract and Dr. Oz

On his March 24th television show, the Vice Chair and Professor of Medicine at Columbia University and oft published and renowned heart surgeon, Dr. Mehmet Oz spoke positively about several herbal medicines, including the all-natural Tongkat Ali extract. Dr. Oz selected a member of the audience to sample Tongkat Ali Extract.

The prominent physician’s strong independent third-party endorsement has led to increased international demand for the herb, which the doctor rightfully introduced as an effective aphrodisiac. Oz mentioned that the primary source for the extract is the rain forests of Malaysia, where the medicine has been used as an all-purpose medication for centuries.

Oz, the audience participant and an expert Tongkat Ali adviser all sampled the extract in powdered form mixed with hot water to create a coffee-like mixture. In southeast Asia, Tongkat Ali has long been mixed with coffee or tea to be imbibed in liquid form.

Oz supports alternative therapies

For those who have read Oz’s health books, the doctor’s endorsement should not be a surprise. The renowned physician has supported and advocated the use of natural herbal products and holistic remedies for more than 15 years. The support of these alternative remedies gives credence to the use of Tongkat Ali as a testosterone booster as well as a general treatment for overall health. On his show, Oz specifically mentioned the increased sex drive for men and women as a byproduct of the herbal extract.

Dr. Oz showed a compelling photograph of the 2 meter long root from a mature Eurycoma Longifolia tree from which the Tongkat Ali extract is derived. Seeing the length and width of the stout root, the viewers can only imagine the labor intensive work necessary to hand dig each vertical root for harvesting. The doctor repeatedly made it clear that the herbal extract is one of the most helpful roots for natural medicines.

“All herbs can work like medications for the human body. We have shown you true scientific reasons why they work,” said Oz.

Studies validate Tongkat Ali Extract

Recent studies by various research laboratories like ZRT have borne out the merits of Tongkat Ali as a treatment for erectile dysfunction as well as an all-natural bodybuilding and muscle building aide. Regional doctors have used the extract to treat fever, or as a cardiovascular therapy and even as a medicine for reduced anxiety for centuries.

When the ZRT report was made public and then supported by the results of the British Journal of Sports Medicine research, international demand for the popular herbal extract increased dramatically. While the manufacturing process has modernized and been aided by today’s easy delivery options, the procurement of the mature roots remains a time consuming and exhausting physical exercise.

Typically, the root must come from a mature Eurycoma Longifolia which reaches 15 meters in height and has a two to three meter long vertical root. As the tree thrives in the rain forests of southeast Asia, the working conditions are strenuous at best. Once the roots are recovered, they are transported to manufacturing facilities where the roots are cleansed, boiled and dried before being ground for use.

Understanding the mixtures

The Tongkat Ali extract is produced in various strengths. The 1:200 strength is the strongest extract composition but the product is produced in 1:50, 1:100 and 1:150 strengths as well. The raw root is not fit for consumption. Once it is sterilized and the bacteria thoroughly removed, the root is chipped or more commonly ground for use in tablet, powdered or capsule form. The powdered extract is usually mixed with tea or coffee to offset the bitter taste.

A 1:200 mixture means that 1 liter of water is mixed with 200 grams of the herb. Likewise, a 1:50 composition means that one liter of water is mixed with 50 grams of Tongkat Ali. Users may want to experiment with dosages to find the most beneficial composition for their use.

The extract is designed to be taken on a cycling basis. The most common cycle is 5 days on and two days off and then the pattern restarts. Some users utilize a 7 days on 2 days off cycle. Each user reacts differently to Tongkat Ali. After a period of experimentation, users generally settle on the most beneficial cycling pattern and product strength for their specific use.

Only Purchase extract from mature trees

Consumers should find reputable suppliers that they are actually purchasing. Some providers have begun to use alcohol as a preservative for the extract. With the increase in demand, certain unreliable providers have started using the roots of immature eurycoma longifolia. The extract from these younger trees does not yield the same results as the extract from mature trees.

Interested clients will find Tongkat Ali extract available for worldwide shipping from various online providers. Consumers should be knowledgeable about the manufacturer’s process.

Consumers should ask the provider for references and feel free to discuss the provider’s manufacturing guidelines. Reputable providers have references and are not reluctant to discuss their manufacturing and distribution procedures. Users should only deal with reputable providers.
